TR108 Sidewinder
Classic Out Of Production Kit
The Sidewinder is a short-range air to air missile originally developed by the U.S. Navy in the 1950's at the Naval Weapons Center at China Lake, California. It's development, which included a number of technical advances, has yielded an entire family of missiles that are still in use on todays aircraft. All present versions include a complex guidance system with a seeker head controlling the four front fins. Some of the recent models have an effective range of almost eleven miles.
The MRC Sidewinder Kit has been made to appear as realistic as possible. It's nearly 1/4 scale. Due to aerodynamic considerations, minor changes were necessary in the model. These changes have maximized flight performance
